Positive WorldSBK practices for Bridewell at Assen

The Superbike Advocates Racing rider places fourteenth on day one at the TT Circuit

Superbike Advocates Racing and rider Tommy Bridewell make solid progress in Friday’s WorldSBK practices as the third Superbike World Championship round of the 2026 season kicks off at the TT Circuit Assen.

Free practice 1 marked the start of this Dutch race weekend, a session that ran mid-morning on Friday in cool, cloudy conditions. Bridewell wasted no time in refamiliarizing himself with the track layout, improving on his times lap after lap through the first part of FP1. Making adjustments to the technical setup of his Ducati Panigale V4R throughout this first session, the British rider put in a best time of 1’35.464. This encouraging initial result saw the Superbike Advocates Racing rider place a temporary sixteenth.

The second practice saw Tommy shave a good few tenths off his best FP1 time already in the opening stages. At ease around this tricky Dutch track, he continued to make progress as the session went on. By the end of this first day, a more confident Tommy was lying fourteenth in the combined standings thanks to a best of 1’34.721, set in the final stages of the afternoon’s practice.

“A very positive first day here at Assen. The team’s worked really well, and we’ve approached the weekend more or less the same way we did Portimão. The key for me was to start analysing my own information and data and then cross-reference that with the other Ducati riders. Overall, I have a really good feeling on the bike. I feel there’s a lot more to come but I’m trying to be sensible and not override. I know how I’m doing the lap times and can continue to do that; it’s basically just a big learning curve for me - I’m learning more with every lap we make.”
