P10 and P11 for Bridewell in the final races of his debut WorldSBK season

The rookie Superbike Advocates Racing team can be very proud of its performance as the 2026 WorldSBK campaign draws to a close at Jerez
Today’s races at Spain’s Jerez Circuit brought the 2026 WorldSBK season to a positive conclusion for the rookie Superbike Advocates Racing team and rider Tommy Bridewell.
Though heavy rain was forecast, the morning’s Superpole race ran in dry albeit very cloudy conditions. Seventh on the grid thanks to his best qualifying of the season so far, Tommy got away well when the lights went out. The rookie gained a position only to drop two places on subsequent laps in the battle against his fellow Ducati riders. Lying eighth until the penultimate lap, Bridewell was ultimately forced to relinquish that position through the final corners but nevertheless brought home another top ten finish in this final sprint of the season.
Tommy’s Superpole result meant that he was able to benefit from another third-row start, P10, for the weekend’s final race. Caught up in traffic through the first turns, Bridewell found himself part of a large group of riders battling for points, separated by only around a second from the top ten. As the race progressed, a tenacious Tommy was able to close in on, and pass Dixon and Baz. With two more riders well within his sights, Tommy set his fastest time on lap nine as he pushed to gain further ground. Passing both Gerloff and Vierge in the final stages, and despite the onset of rain in the last few laps, Bridewell maintained a sufficiently strong pace to defend eleventh to the line and bring his 2026 WorldSBK campaign to a close with more points.
Thanks also to his results here at Jerez, Bridewell rounds out this year’s championship in fourteenth position in the general standings with a total of 83 points. Additionally, Superbike Advocates Racing places twelfth in the teams’ standings, the one-rider squad even able to finish in front of an important two-rider factory team.
The Superbike Advocates Racing team will now take a well-deserved break before diving into its winter test program ahead of the 2027 WorldSBK season, when Bridewell and his technicians will look to build on all they have learned during a convincing debut season.
Tommy Bridewell #46
“Something has not quite gelled this weekend if I’m honest; the combination of my riding and the bike setup just didn’t click for some reason. I’ve struggled all weekend with rear grip and so we made quite a bold change into Race 2 but, after making a terrible start and finding myself way back, it was hard to get back through the pack. A hard weekend overall, but I don’t want to be doom and gloom, because for a team built so last minute, I think we can hold our heads high and be very proud of what we’ve achieved this season. I don’t think we could have asked for much more actually, and generally I’m very happy. Just this weekend, we didn’t quite manage to extract exactly what we wanted from me and the bike. As for the championship, I think we could have been a bit higher in the standings had I learned a little earlier in the year to perhaps settle in some situations rather than override to try and achieve a certain result. But considering we didn’t do round 1, I think we can be very pleased with what’s been a rookie year for both me and the team. I’m confident that if I work hard with my riding, technique and learning over the winter, we can be up there fighting for the top six from the offset. A huge thank you to the whole team for all their incredible hard work and support, and to our sponsors and technical partners too, of course.”
